Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Peter by adding your memories and photos.

I remember vividly like it was yesterday walking into the booth where Scott Muni was doing his afternoon show on wnew-fm and catching Pete on his knees giving Scott oral pleasure. I was shocked to say the least but after hearing Pete's album that came out around 6 months later, I know why. That was the only way the loud mouth no talent ever made any money in the music business.
Rest in peace you piece or garbage

Is this the same Peter Cofield that had a song called "What Exactly is a Friend?" If it is,I have the vinyl.

I was born in Chile and raised in Montreal, Canada where I immigrated in 1976. My parents were so busy working, taking care of their six children and learning french that by the time I was 5, I felt inside something huge and really strange for the kid I was, I felt for the first time loneliness. I remember sitting on my bed, watching the turntable, grabbing a record my father bought days before. I listened and listened that record

Dear Marianne and children, I am so sad to hear of Peter's sudden passing. I'm Peter's cousin from Whippany, now living in Florida. I remember Peter fondly and with many funny memories. We were friends as children. I listened to him play the accordion many time over the years and at family gatherings. I send you my heartfelt sorrow and sincere condolenses. He will always be remembered. Love, Ruthie

To Peter's Family: How sad it was to hear the news of Peter's pssing. Although we have not been in touch with Peter he was often the topic of conversation when we looked back on fun times. He was a special part of my sons' lives when they were growing up and I'm sure was an inspiration to them for their love of music while they were young and now that they are men. We used to play his record

To the Cofield Family: My brother passed on the sad news about Peter. As he had mentioned, we spent many Friday nights listening and watching Peter play at the Black Horse in Mendham. One of my favorite memories of Peter was when my brother and I drew pictures for him and brought them with us to see him. He proudly displayed them on the front of his keyboard that night. I continue to listen to "What Exactly is a Friend"

To the Family of Peter Cofield: I was shocked and saddened to hear about Peter's passing. I haven't seen Peter since I was four years old. My family and I loved going to see Peter sing his original songs at the Black Horse Inn in Mendham back in the early 70s. He even asked me once to come up and sing with him. My family used to asked me if I wanted to go to the movies...go to the Carnival...or
