I remember vividly like it was yesterday walking into the booth where Scott Muni was doing his afternoon show on wnew-fm and catching Pete on his knees giving Scott oral pleasure. I was shocked to say the least but after hearing Pete's album that came out around 6 months later, I know why. That was the only way the loud mouth no talent ever made any money in the music business.

My parents were so busy working, taking care of their six children and learning french that by the time I was 5, I felt inside something huge and really strange for the kid I was, I felt for the first time loneliness. I listened and listened that record so many times that I learned to speak english before everyone. More importantly, that was the first conscious musical experience I can recall. That album was Peter Cofield's eponymous LP.

I learned music and became a musician and songwriter myself. In the past months, I tried to find M. Cofield to thank him for the inspiration and the love his music brought me in the days where I really needed it. I'm sorry for not having had the time to do so. I still have his LP and listen to it sometimes. I'm so sad he's gone.

Dear Marianne and children, I am so sad to hear of Peter's sudden passing. I'm Peter's cousin from Whippany, now living in Florida. I remember Peter fondly and with many funny memories. We were friends as children. I listened to him play the accordion many time over the years and at family gatherings. I send you my heartfelt sorrow and sincere condolenses. We used to play his record over and over until it was worn. Fortunately,my son,Bob, got in touch with him through Facebook and shared a few god times together. Peter will be remembered in our prayers for his love for life and people,his great talent and his ability to make small children feel special in his presence. I regret that we lost touch over the years but we never lost our love for him. God bless you during this difficult time,but I'm sure you'll feel Peter's prescence in your life in some way.
