John was a pilot in the 496th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, stationed at Landstuhl AFB, Germany from 1953 to 1957. These men were on the front lines of confronting the Russians at the beginning of the Cold War. We are having a 496th Reunion in San Antonio this year, and we will miss him.
