I love you Gram!

Posted by: Kenzie Floyd - great granddaughter   Nov 12, 2012

She may have been my cousin but she always insisted we call her Aunt Lucy. I loved spending time with her in the summer with my mother Helen and my grandparents Ida and Willie.
She was a kind and loving person always full of laughter and always ready with a funny comment or story. She made me laugh.
The one thing that sticks in my mind is how she passed out bread at the dinner table. I

Lucy was my wonderful friend and like a second mother to me. She taught me that you can face anything in life if you have God on your side and face it with a smile. I am going to miss her so much. I know she is so happy in Heaven with our Lord and with her wonderful Winston.
She was a blessing to everyone who met her.

I didn't get to be with Gram as much as I would like to, but I loved her the moment I met her. She just made me feel as though I had known her all my life. I will always remember her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know her. I just know she's in heaven now "livening things up!!"

I am so sorry that J.R. and I can't be at the memorial services. If it were at all
possible we would be there. Our sympathy to Jim, Jerri, FaEllen and families.
Lucy and I shared a closeness that not many people enjoy. She wasn't as much a cousin as she was a good friend. We have cried together and we have laughed together. She lived a full happy life and had a loving family to take care of her. ....But I miss her already...and my heart is heavy.

She was a wonderful person to be around. Always had fun when we visited as kids so many years ago. I am glad to see that in her picture she still retained that wonderful smile. I like my sister Denise know that the world truly has lost a wonderful lady.
My prayers will be sent the our Lord for the family.

Lucy was a very special person. She had such a sweet smile and a way of making everyone feel special. Prayers go out for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ms. Lucy was very special to me. I consider myself lucky to have known her. Everytime I visited with her it was evident she loved her family and had a wonderful life. The Sterling House will not be the same without her. She brightened my day every time I visited there. She loved to tell me jokes. I will miss her sweet smile.
