Cynthia and I started teaching together at Coolidge during the "double shift" when Wilson was built. We taught together for may years at both Coolidge and John Deere. We were friends. She was one of the most talented persons I have ever known. She inspired her students to perform outstandingly. They loved her. She was truly a warm, gererous, shining star. My sincere condolences go to her family. She will be greatly missed.

Cynthia was one of the early friends I made in the Augie music department. I thought she was such a kind person; shy, bright and talented and caring. I am sorry to hear of her passing. I have only good memories of her. In my mind, her picture image has changed little from 1959 until this picture now from Esterdahl's.

Cynthia was first and foremost, my favorite cousin. Then she became my first piano teacher and taught me to love music as no one else could have. Always patient and kind, she was the ideal I reached for whenever I struggled to learn a new piece of music. Through her I learned not only to play the piano, but to love the tones, textures and rhythms to be found in all kinds of music.

Rest In Peace Cynthia! You will be greatly missed! I will never forget the day I was driving the shuttle singing my own little tune and you told me I had a wonderful voice, you really touched me when you told me that. Miss Ecker was an exceptional music teacher. She taught my sisters Chris, Susy and myself (1976-79). She instilled in all of us a great passion and love for music. She was one of my favorite teachers. She will be fondly remembered by all three of us. When I think of her, I remember the song "I Am A Rock", we sang it all the time. She was a teacher that made a difference. She will be missed.

Thank you to a wonderful choir teacher @ Coolidge 1981--I will always remember our Beatles medley, your smile, positive attitude and talent. I continue to sing because of you, Miss Ecker!

I knew Cynthia through her sister Gloria Welcker. She was a very kind and decent person. I will always remember her playing and singing Christmas Carols on the Welcker's piano as our families would often celebrate Christmas together. My thoughts and prayers go out to her relatives and loved ones. God Bless.
