We just found out that Jim passed away. We are so sorry for your loss and hate that we didn't know sooner. Jim was an awesome man of God and we loved him deeply. He will be greatly missed, but we know he's dancing with Jesus in heaven!

Bobby Dodd was my boyhood hero in the 1950s, and he personally told me in the 1980s on a visit to Carrollton that the 1962 Alabama game was his greatest victory. I saw Coach Carlen after the game, shook his

Meredith, we are terribly sorry for your loss. Coach was one of the best who cannot be replaced. I'm sure he already has a team in training in heaven, and everyone better get out of his way! Again our deepest sympathy. Bill and Amelia

Meredith and the Carlen clan, we're going to miss this "one of a kind" friend. Never a stranger did he meet and he seemed to know everyone. We learned a lot from Jim; never hold back, treat people nice quitely, we could go on and on. He will surely be missed by all. We are better in our lives for having known him. All our love, Marty and Jacki Pauls
