Mrs. Benac taught instrumental music at Parole Elementary School where I attended. I played cello and spent much time with her during my years at Parole. She arranged for several of her string students to begin playing in the Annapolis Junior High Orchestra while still in elementary school, I was one of those students. I have fond memories of Mrs. Benac and wish her family my condolences.

I have many memories of Aunt Ginny. She brought an "impish" energy to all our family gatherings. Her laugh was truly melodious. I so enjoyed the eulogies at her funeral and I can truly imagine her lively and enthusiastic explanations to young children about how the violin can sing and laugh and cry. It's not a surprise she fostered so many future musicians. Life must be lively in the next realm now.

Mrs. Benac taught my son violin, first in her home and then at Severn House until his death. He always loved his violin lessons with her and spent some rest time visiting with her and enjoying her company. May she rest in peace.

May I extend my sincere condolences to your family on this loss. I will never forget Mrs. Benac who taught me, and so many other young students, to play the violin in Annapolis public schools. She was tough but always kind, something not always easy to be with kids who would probably rather be doing anything else but practicing! But practice we did... for her. Take comfort in knowing Virginia Benac touched and enriched many, many lives.

Dear Peter, Michael, and Susan,
I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I will always remember her contagious laugh and the warmth that she extended to me whenever we were together. Memories of your mom and your dad will always be happy ones for me, and I am grateful to have known them both.
Love, Dina (Reddy) Malone

Mrs. Benac taught me how to play the violin from 1963-1966. I still remember how to hold the violin, the bow and what position my elbow should be in. She taught my daughter as well. We have shown my grandchildren the proper position. Mrs. Benac was one of a kind.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
