Joyce Ann Brewer, 71, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away Monday, August 6,
2012.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Earl E. Brewer, Jr.; daughter
and son-in-law Julia and Kevin Cecil; son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Amy
Brewer; stepson and daughter-in-law Mike and Teresa Brewer; grandchildren
Micheal Brewer, Tiffany Stroh, Will Adams and Wyatt Brewer; great-grandchildren Savannah and Austin Brewer; a sister, Mildred Presson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

She was born near Berryville, Arkansas, but had lived most of her life in Little Rock. An active member of Bingham Road Baptist Church, Joyce was much loved by her family, friends and community.

Visitation will be at Griffin Leggett Healey Roth, 5800 W. 12th Street, Wednesday, August 8, from 6pm-8pm, and funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday at Bingham Road Baptist Church, 923 W. Bingham Road, Little Rock, Arkansas with interment following at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Alexander.

Mrs. Joyce was a role model to me, our women, and our young ladies. She is woman I have looked up to for many years because of her faith, her dedication to W.O.M., her tending to the business of Sunday school, her talent in throwing church showers, church parties, and I truly admire her constant involvement with visitors and welcoming church members.

Joyce was always so put together. I met her the summer before 7th grade in Band class. Julia and I both played clarinet. Andy was just a baby and crawled around the room. Joyce became like a second mother to me. If it were not for her I wouldn't have been in any extracurricular activities. She would come from Landmark to Willow Springs Road to pick me up for almost everything. She always took Julia and I to Band Camp and picked us up. Earl made me eat jelly made out of watermelon rind. He tricked me and then told me what it was. I think it was watermelon or maybe purple hull pea hulls. Lots of fond memories of this family. Prayers for peace and comfort in the days to come.

Joyce and I shared the Same Love of Pretty Dishes, along with Good Food, Served and Displayed with Great Attention; in the words of our other loved sisters, not necessary or too much work - but together, we were unstoppable:) When we agreed to meet early to set things up in the manner we deemed necessary - I quickly learned that Joyce would get there 30 minutes before agreed time to have most of the work done. Occasionally, I would show up early just to show her she could not get ahead of me. Well I guess she won this time - she is setting God's table with prettier dishes than our prettiest, at a table more grand than I can imagine - I find so much comfort in knowing that she will have it all ready when I get there, with that same delight she had... I worked with Joyce at ADm for 12 years. I will cherrish the memories working with her. She was always so caring and giving to everyone and her family. I will truly miss her although I did not see or talk to her very often. I sure enjoyed the bunch of us ladies from the office getting together for lunch some place. I will remember all of the Christmases we had at Uncle Jr and Joyce's house. She sure did like to cook and always had plenty of food to eat. She was so proud to show me the remodel she did in her house. I still have the flowers she gave me that she pulled from her garden. They continue to come up every year. Now those flowers will have a special place in my heart and in my garden. Also, for all of the times you came up and took my mom somewhere or brought her something you had cooked I want to say thanks Aunt Joyce.
