We are all so very sorry of the loss of Robert. He has touched us all in so many ways in such a short time. The following quote is brought to mind as I sit here today thinking of all great times we had together. God Bless you all.
“Nothing you love is lost. Not really. Things, people–they always go away sooner or later. You can’t hold them anymore than you can hold moonlight. But if they’ve touched you, if

I am very sorry to hear about Robert's passing. Robert was a talented chef and a good person. I enjoyed talking about food with him. The culinary community has lost a great chef. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Rest in peace Chef.

It was with great sadness we learned of Robert's passing. We will fondly remember the vacations at the beach with chef, Terry and Lindsey (where Tina had the courage of preparing a meal or two for chef), charming cooking classes at the Annapolis Yacht Club, wonderful meals and even an occasional after-dinner sip of his favorite beverage in his upstairs office at the club. We will miss his smile and his love of laughter -- Chef Robert brightened every day we were with him. May God's light shine upon him in heaven.

Rob and I met just over 28 years ago in Baltimore. Both young chefs we came together to take control of a new hotel. Although we only worked together for a few weeks we formed a lasting friendship on many levels. Over the years it didn't matter where we were in the country we always found time to meet for a weekend or two and share our love of food, wine, boating and most recently scuba diving. We always found

I remember the day Robert passed away I was coming home and seen the Macomb County Medical Examiner in Robert's driveway. I knew what that meant and was totally shocked. All the conversations my wife and I ever had with Robert we knew he was a gentle kind man. Our deepest sympathy his daughter Lindsey, Terry and the rest of his family and friends. Rest in peace Chef Robert you will be missed.

When I met Chef Robert Carney for the first time I immediately knew he was talented man. He had a natural creative flair and passion for food and ambiance. His ability not only to manage but to insist on excellence transitioned the Annapolis Yacht Club into a true fine dining experience. Chef Robert was down to earth and a pleasure to work with. His sense of humor, laughter and tell it like is manner, made him one of a kind.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Robert's passing but I know he will live on in our fondest memories. I was privleged to get to know Robert while working at AYC. He was a kind, generous man and we shared many laughs together. I enjoyed talking about food and wine with Robert. He made some of the best meals I ever had. I know he will be missed by all and my thoughts and prayers are with those who were closest to him.

Chef. There are no words to express how sad we are and how very much we will miss you. Your culinary talents go without saying but the entertaining conversations we enjoyed with you about wine, boating and comparing notes about skiing, vacations and future endeavors...your friendship is what we will truely miss. To Rob's family, please know that he was loved and respected and the GPYC would not have been the same without him. His memory will live on and on!
