Tommy always seemed to be a man of silent strength, unconditional love, sobering humility and overwhelming compassion. When judging a mans character, I felt he tried to look past the surface into a mans heart. I've always had an image, an ideal, of what might the character of Christ be. Tommy struck me as one of those people who truly tried every day to manifest that ideal in his life. I am thankful to have met and known him the

I look back with the fondest of memories of Mr. Bamberg... the Gin, the Cabin, River Bend, Sunday dinners. Tommy was always so welcoming to me and always made me feel like one of his own. I am so sorry for your family's loss of such an honorable man. Please take comfort that Tommy has touched the lives of so many. He was a profound role model for me at a much needed time in my life, in a day when they were few and far between. I will always cherish his friendship.

Jo, Thad, Trent, Misty, Rod & Tish, May your faith continue to guide you through this difficult time.
Tommy was a special person to me when I was growing up in Centreville and as a teenager after I moved away. I can remember him teaching me how to skip rocks from the sand bar on the river... taking me fishing on my summer trips. But most importantly, the strong role model he provided for me as a man who loved his wife and family. The example I needed so much to see.

Jo and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Jan and I have such fond memories of the times we have spent together. It is comforting to know that men of character, such as Tommy, not only serve in public office, but seek to replicate what God has shown him in the lives of young people, including his own family. I am sure that he is hearing the words, "Well done thow good and faithful servant." May this bring comfort to you now and in the coming days. We are praying for you.
