Ella Virginia Dennison, 91, of Huntington, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Woodlands. She was born August 14, 1921 in Grayson County, Virginia, the daughter of Robert and Mae Hampton Edwards. The family moved to Sparta, N.C. when she was a child. She graduated from Appalachian State University with an education degree. She is preceeded in death by her parents, and her brother Page. Her sister Edna Miller (Sam) lives in Laurel Springs, N.C. Ella is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Charles W. Dennison of Huntington; 2 daughters, Mary Ellen Dennison of Kennesaw, Ga., and Kathryn Wakeling (Philip) of Marietta Ga., one son, Dr. William Dennison (Jeannie) of Huntington; 6 grandchildren, Stephen ( Erin) and Matthew Wakeling, Christopher Russell, Andrew, Emily and Catherine Dennison. She is also survived by many beloved nephews and nieces. Ella was a member of First United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the First United Methodist Church 1124 5th Ave, Huntington, WV 25701. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2012 at Klingel Carpenter Mortuary by the Rev. Mark Conner. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 18th at the funeral home
