I am glad I had the opportunity to have Bro. Moore as my pastor. I went through confirmation class with him as a teenager. It was a blessing coming to church each Sunday with Bro. Moore and Inez. It looks he was able to touch a lot of lives in his 90 years. Condolences to the family.

I was unable to attend Gene's service because of illness, but I will never forget his kindness, wisdom, and enduring friendship. He was a mentor to me during my chaplaincy internship at McKendree Village and one of the most gracious human beings I have ever known. I wish I could have met his family to tell you so in person. My prayers are with you all.

Brother Moore performed our wedding ceremony. We corresponded each year with Christmas letters. He comforted me when my father passed away. We will miss reading his personable letters. He was a special man.

Mary Lou and Maurice: I have been out of town visiting Jane Sutlive and just heard about Bro. Moore's going to heaven! He was such a blessing to Wallace and me during Wallace's illness, with his calls and constant letters of caring and concern. Happy reunions I'm sure!!! My love and prayers for God's grace and comfort for you and the children, grands and greatgrands! A truly good man. Mary Frances Chappell
