I never wanted to write a memorial for the first man in my life; yet sadly, that day has come. In all the chaos surrounding his last days and the Celebration of Life service, I never even thought to look on here. Only tonight did I look up the site to see if messages were still online.
The impact our Dad had, not only on his family but on many others, was amazing--I only hope he knows how much he meant

We will sure miss him. Fay and family we are both sorry we missed his services and would have been there had we known. We have been blessed with some wonderful memories of Al and bowling and just visiting. We are grateful to have had such a good friend.

So very sorry to read about Al passing tonight. We enjoyed many of Al's stories over the many years at the bowling alleys. He so loved the game. Faye, we are sorry that we can't make the service but you are in our thoughts and prayers.

It was a pleasure to get to know Al & Fay through cruises and family get-togethers! In fact, we got to see him this past summer at the Bowen family reunion. He was chair-ridden, but interacted with everyone and seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself. Rodd spoke of his grandpa often, and I think Al had a big influence on his life, especially in the painting area!

Faye and family,
Family quilts are made with many pieces. Faye and Al have always welcomed us as part of the family even though we are only blood related to Bob & Judy. My dad and Al had a long history together, Navy duty, marrying his sister Cecil and going to cometology school together. Living in New Buffalo a few blocks apart for as long as I remember. Beautiful memories all through the years. What a wonderful life Al had with family and friends and bowling buddies! Love, Charlynn, Chuck, Kim and families.

The Bruce family would like to say we are sorry for your loss!
Al was a great guy! when my dad (Bud Bruce) was sick he made a point to visit him at least once a week. Dad really enjoyed his visits and they talked about the good old days.
