Albert C. Iwen

I was so shocked and sad to hear about Al when I called his home to speak with him. I recieved a Christmas card from Al a few days ago postmarked December 29, 2011. Al and I met in 1981 when we were vacationing in Terre Haute, Indiana. I was impressed with his sharp intellect, breadth of experience and his personality. Al was an exceptional person. I was so shocked and sad to hear about Al when I called his home to speak with him. I recieved a Christmas card from Al a few days ago postmarked December 29, 2011. Al and I met in 1981 when we were vacationing in Terre Haute, Indiana. I was impressed with his sharp intellect, breadth of experience and his personality. Al was an exceptional person. We talked a lot. In June 1995 I took a driving trip that brought me to Merrill where I stayed with the Iwen family for a few days. Al took me up in his airplane and we had a great weekend. For the past several years we would talk by phone at the holidays and bring each other up to date. Although much time had gone by, it was always my intention for us to get together again. Even though our contact had become infrequent, I will miss him. My deepest sympathy to the family and children.

MY WIFE AND I WISH TO EXTEND OUR MOST HEARTFELT SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY OF ALBERT. ALBERT WAS IN MY CLASS OF 1949. I WAS ALSO CONFIRMED WITH AL. I WOULD ALWAYS GIVE HIM A PHONE CALL TO REMIND HIM OF OUR CLASS LUNCHEONS AT 3'S COMPANY.I ALWAYS ENJOYED OUR YAK SESSIONS AT OUR LUNCHEONS. HE WAS A VERY INTERESTING PERSON TO SPEAK WITH. Carl will be missed dearly by everyone At Atrium. Our office was always happy when he came to visit. My condolences to his family.

I will miss the Uncle Albert stories which were a regular part of the weekly conversations with my folks. Wisconsin never felt faraway. He kept the feeling of family alive with his calls, cards for Bdays and Christmas. He was a very special man. Kimberly, Janelle, Ablert Eddie and Carl were very lucky to have him for a father. My sympathy to you all during this sad time.

My deepest sympathy to Albert's children. Your dad has left me with fond memories of exciting airplane rides, playing the game of RISK at grandma and grandpa's house, and getting together for any family activity. He kept our German ancestry alive. I will always remember him to be a kind and caring man.

I am so shocked to hear the sad news. I just received a letter from Albert on Wednesday the 28th. I have always been fascinated and impressed with Albert. He was always so kind to talk with. I am honored that he was part of my family. Betty his sister and I used to work together. He will be missed, but smile--because he is smiling back!

My sympathy goes out to Albert's children. I am very sorry for his loss. Whenever I think of him I remember visits to Grandma and Grandpa's house when he was there and being drawn to listen to the interesting conversations that he was having with Dad and others. His knowledge of many things was truly amazing. I also remember riding in his airplane which was great, and when he flew Mom and Dad out to Minnesota when I lived there.

I wish to express my deepest sympthy to Albert's children. I will always remember Albert as my really smart uncle. His knowledge of chemestry and vitamins was amazing. At the same time the carefree way of following the clock was a typical characteristic of Albert, often looked upon with humor and affection. He will be greatly missed.
