Alfred J. Walczak, 93, of Fort Pierce, FL, died June 10, 2012 at St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, FL. He was born in Trenton, NJ and had been a resident of Fort Pierce since 1984, having moved from Lawrenceville, NJ. He was in the Armed Guard from 1938 – 1941, and in the Navy from 1944 – 1945, having served during WWII. He retired from General Motors in Ewing Township, NJ after 24 years of employment. He was of the Catholic faith, and had been a member of the Democratic Club in Trenton, NJ.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Wanda J. Walczak of Port St. Lucie; son, Larry Walczak of Stuart, FL; daughters, Patricia Sciandra of Birmingham, AL, Irene Inman of Wrightstown, NJ and Joan Wilson of Hopewell, NJ; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a brother, Henry Walczak of Ocala, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Florence Walczak, sisters, Helen and Ceil and a brother, Eugene.
A visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00PM, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Forest Hills Funeral Homes, Palm City Chapel.
A funeral service will be 10:00AM, Friday, June 15, 2012 in the funeral home chapel.
Entombment will follow the service in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, FL.
Memorial contributions may be made to: the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 3475 Douglas Avenue, Fort Pierce, FL 34981 in Alfred's memory.
