Mrs. Alice Sue Jorn, age 71, of Manila, passed from this life, Sunday August 5, 2012 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born at Wilson, Arkansas she was the daughter of the late Isaac Newton and Verna Fleming Alexander. A graduate of Manila High School, she later received a Bachelor of Science degree in English from Arkansas State University. She was a retired school teacher and member of the Arkansas Teachers Association. She taught in the West Helena School District for many years and returned to Manila in 2002 where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Richard "Butch" Simpson, a grandson, Richard Simpson, III, and a brother, Isaac Newton Alexander, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Maurice "Gene" Jorn of the home

Richard Jorn of Effingham, Illinois
Philip Jorn of Kirksville, Missouri
A. J. Jorn of Blytheville

Rebecca Veach of West Plains, Missouri
1 sister, Julia Hern of Heber Springs, Arkansas
1 sister-in-law, Mattie Douglas of Manila
She also leaves 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 3pm Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Joey Smithson officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. Guest register @www.HowardFuneralService.com
