Althea "Suz" Loy Robertson Corn, passed away on Aug. 5, 2012. She was born
September 10, 1924 in Independence County to Rosa and Lee Loy.
A member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, Suz had been head cashier
at Kroger in Rose City for 25 years. She enjoyed her crafts including sewing, doll
making, and other unique creations entered in craft shows throughout central
Arkansas for many years.
Suz was preceded in death by her husband John Peter "Pete" Corn, Sr.; sisters
Opal Loy Smith and Bessie Rawlings; brothers Carlton Loy and Cornelius Loy; son,
Tom Corn; and Van D. Robertson, husband from a previous marriage.
She is survived by her daughter Connie Robertson of Little Rock; son John Peter Corn,
Jr. (Lynn) of Searcy; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and
nephews. The family wishes to express deep appreciate to Suz's loving and devoted caregivers:
Pamela Storay, Jackie Farnam, Joi James; Janet Dedmon, Barbara Martin, Deloris Williams,
Darcia Carroll; the staff at Woodland Hills Healthcare and Rehab, the extended Corn family;
and dear friend, Helen Bean of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Grace Presbyterian Church,
9301 N. Rodney Parham Rd., reception following at the church. The Reverend Lindy Vogado will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church.
