Anne Christine Franson "Chris", beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Born February 25, 1953 in Hudson, Wisconsin, Chris graduated from Wauwatosa East High School. She then attended Drake University, receiving a degree with honors in special education, where she met and later married her husband Tim. Chris taught at schools in both Illinois and Zionsville, then worked as a real-estate agent for twelve years before changing her focus to service and volunteer organizations. An avid philanthropist, she served on the Board and chaired the Grants Committee for Women's Fund, was on the Boards for Dress for Success, the Zionsville Education Foundation, and served on United Way Committees. She was also a long-time volunteer and event chair for The Villages of Indiana. Chris was honored to have co-chaired Governor Daniels' election night event in 2004. Chris was dedicated to her faith and was a past Deacon at Zionsville Presbyterian Church. Her greatest passion was time with her family and friends whom she enriched daily with her wisdom and caring spirit. She truly enjoyed traveling, the arts, nature, and her love of warm weather was exceeded only by her genuine and sunny disposition.
Chris is survived by her husband, Dr. Tim Franson, and her children Scott and his spouse Katee, Becky and Melissa with her spouse Nick, her grandson Max, as well as her brothers Mike and Jim Hassett.
A memorial service in her honor will take place at the Zionsville Presbyterian Church, 4775 W. 116th St., Zionsville on Saturday, May 19th at 2pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Women's Fund c/o Central Indiana Community Foundation, 615 N. Alabama St. #119, Indianapolis, IN 46204-1431 or Villages of Indiana 3833 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46208.
You are invited to go to the Guest Book page to pass along your personal message or tell a story.
