KULJU, Anne, Survived by her husband, John Kulju; daughter, Emma (Alan) Phillips; step-daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Montoya; mother, Jean Key; brother, Allan Key; grandchildren, Lia and Zoe Phillips; step-grandchildren, Andres, Diego, and Mikaela Montoya. There will be a gathering for friends and family Thursday August 9 at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville.

We are gonna miss you here at Crocker Animal Hospital! You are a lovely lady and very sweet. There are a lot of people who knew you and loved seeing you and listening to your wonderful British accent. I know Thomas and Charlie will probably miss you more than words could say. I am so, so sorry to hear of Anne's death. What a shock, we had only re-connected last year by email. Anne and I had some really fun times together when we were in our teens and I will remember her with fond thoughts.
We lived and grew up in Welney together and laughed alot!

Well dear, although you weren't with us in body, I can only hope you were with us in Spirit as Emma, Zoë Greg and I, once again sat in THE CUTTER in Ely; and celebrated your and my 32nd Anniversary. I will never forget you, will always love you; and can only hope you'll meet me at the time I can join you. Even if it is just to inform me of my mistakes after your untimely departure. I love you.

We have just returned from Scotland, Nov 8, 2012, where we spread some of Anne's ashes with her Father's. We hope this will aid her peace. It was a pleasant trip with family, we saw some beautiful countryside, and pleasant journey.
We also took the opportunity to visit with friends, some we haven't seen since 2000, others since 1990.
I am hoping that this spreading will aid my love in her quest.

John...I am saddened to hear that Anne is no longer among us physically that is. I was going through facebook today and seen your post on her page. I have not been in touch with Emma nor have I been on faceboo for awhile. She was a wonderful woman and a mother figure to many overseas. I am sure everyone will miss her. I wish I would have known, I would have come down for the visitation.

We got to share Ann's love of books with her at the Book Attic. I was always glad to see her come. Friendly, interesting, and fun. It was a joy to know her. Nancy, Cindy, and I will miss her a lot.

I didn't get the chance to make a lot of memories with Anne but I knew her enough to know that she was a wonderful, caring and loving wife, mum and grandmother. I truly enjoyed chatting with her on Facebook and at the Kitchen table. She was always there to help when I needed someone to talk or just to listen to my problems. I will truly miss our little talks. She really helped me a lot. We will miss her dearly and she will always be in our hearts.

I remember being stationed at RAF Mildenhall UK in 1980 as a young airman, being away from home and out of country for the first time. That Christmas and many other occasions over the next 3 years Anne & John opening up their home to all of the single airmen.
I also remember Anne being like a "mum" away from home.

For the benefit of those who haven't heard the story of Anne and my meeting, I thought I would post it here so interested people would know it is possible to find fulfillment in unexpected situations.

I first met Anne in June 1976, when a new friend of mine, David Hines, told me I needed to meet this pretty hot chick with a reputation guys like. (Anne and I never figured out where the reputation came from). I reminded him I was married, but he introduced us anyway. At that introduction in the Cherry Tree Public House in Welney, nr Wisbech, CAMBS, Anne and I had our first argument. (I'd forgotten you don't discuss politics with locals). When we parted company after a few short minutes, I had a new acquaintance, and Anne figured I was just some dumb, young Yank, that should never have been allowed out of his country.

Our second meeting 6 weeks later, was just as auspicious, since I called Emma a boy when she was sleeping in her Pram, and insulted Anne further in the process (even if by mistake).

So for the next couple of years, if Anne saw me coming towards her on the street, she would cross over to avoid me, since she was brought up with proper manners, and seeing me would require her to offer a greeting.

I wound up with a separation in July of 1978, and as a single guy attended a local farmer's Annual Barn Dance. As I was wandering the floor with a beer in hand, Anne was the first person I saw who I knew well enough (I thought) to say hello to. I asked her if I could join her at her table, and after a quick glance to see how many people she could blame the 7 empty chairs on, she gave up and allowed me to sit. That evening we had our first conversation that ended fairly reasonably, and finally left us with the start of our friendship. (Not that it went completely smooth)

Over the next few months we saw more of each other (planned) and the friendship took off.
Then we attended a party in December, where we imbibed a bit too freely, and, accidently became very good friends. This caused an awkward week while trying to figure out if we'd screwed something up. We evidently decided we'd found something and in July 1979 set up household together.

We married in November of 1980 (permission is another story), and while it wasn't all smooth sailing (my fault mostly), I believe we had something special, and she was more than I could have hoped for or deserved. There wasn't much we didn't do together, including running the roads as the partners we were, in a 40-ton rig. She once told me if anyone had ever told her as a child she was going to end up touring the U.S. as work, she'd have tried to have them committed. (That may not have been the only plans of hers I spoiled.)

So, after an insufficient number of years together, Anne and I have been parted through no desire of our own. And now, I have to figure out how to muddle along until once again we are allowed to be together. Fortunately, Anne has left me with the support of daughters and their families who will help to make the rest of this existence bearable. For that I am eternally grateful.

To Anne I would like to say, I will love you always and forever, and am looking forward to when we rejoin.

anne touched so many peoples lifes, and i was one of them.i was fresh out of basic training and not on a good path.anne let me live in her home and got me on the right path. t wound like too thank her for that.she was a wonderful lady,and it was a priviallge too have known anne. i will miss you but never forget her. dan briggs

Well let me first start off with Anne was a great women she was nices and sweet. I meet her when i when sown to Tennessee with my parents. I had a lot of fun she said i could come back anytime i wanted to. I had a lot of fun hanging out with her down there in Tennessee at her house it was the best vacation ever. I wrote her letter and made her a picture and send it to her when she was in the hospital. She was a great women and she will be miss and she is love and never will be forgotten.
