Aurelio Galura Pangilinan, Jr., 65 years old, of Stevensville, Michigan, joined God in heaven on July 14, 2012.

Aurelio was born in Manila, Philippines on October 2, 1946. Aurelio graduated from the University of Santo Thomas and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married Acela (Lee) SBR Pangilinan on August 28, 1978, in Mobile, Alabama. Aurelio retired from Bosch Braking Systems in April 2012 after being employed there for almost 25 years. He was very active in the ministries of his parish, Saint Joseph Catholic Church, through his involvement on the Parish Council, acting as chairperson of the Christian Service Committee, and planning the yearly parish picnic. He also volunteered at the SHARE program sponsored by the Community Center in Benton Harbor. Aurelio lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed reading, following Detroit sports teams, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Aurelio is survived by his wife, Acela; children, Anne and her husband, David, Andrew, Angelica; two grandchildren, Lily Marie and Samuel David; brothers, Levi (Nesty) Pangilinan, Mike (Leony) Pangilinan and Resty (Olivia) Pangilinan; and sisters, Charito (Mel) Muňoz and Cora (Mario) Gutana.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012, from 5 – 8 p.m. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, Michigan with prayers recited at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Memorials may be made to the Readiness Center or Lake Michigan Catholic Schools.
