Bobby Joe Poole, 76, of Hurst TX, passed away August 2, 2012.
Service: Funeral, Tuesday at 10 a.m., Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Visitation, Monday 6 to 8 p.m., Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, Colleyville TX.
Bobby was born in Powderly, TX to Grady and Irene Poole on September 9, 1935. Bob retired as a Captain in the Navy. He also received his PHD from East Texas State University in Commerce, TX. Bob was on staff at the University of New Mexico from 1964-1966; and then at the University of Oklahoma (OU) in Norman, OK in 1968. It all got started in Pecan Gap, TX at a little house church that sits on a hill, Bob called it "Blueberry Hill", that to this day, will never be forgotten. Bob enjoyed music; he loved hearing Kim play his trumpet and banjo. His hobbies included cooking, reading, traveling, and working in his yard. He loved his grandkids very much and loved to take them places to experience different cultures. Bob was and always will be known by his grandkids as Poppy.
Survivors: Bob is survived by his son Kim Wayne Poole and Kim's mother, Wanda Jean Canup Reynolds, brothers; Jack of Irving TX, Wayne and his wife Jane of Cooper, TX, grandkids; Mera and Makila Kajun, Mischa and son Logan who he loved very much, he will also be greatly missed by all of his family, friends, associates and community.
