Carol A. (Jonasson) Castagnino of Foxboro,passed away unexpectedly on Friday August 3, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Steven F. Castagnino who together shared 38 wonderful years. Carol Grew up in Newton, Ma and graduated from Newton Public Schools. She was a loving daycare provider for many years in Foxboro who thoroughly enjoyed caring for children especially babies. Carol took pleasure in making ceramics, porcelain dolls and needlework. She loved games, both computer games and those played on family get togethers. But most of all Carol took great pleasure in being a loving wife and in raising her daughter Lisa, enjoying many childhood activities together. Also Carol cherished her time with her much loved 5 year old grandson Bryant Correy Jr. Carol is also survived by her parents; Carl H. and Eleanor (Aiken) Jonasson Sr. of St. Petersburg, FL, her 6 brothers and sisters; Mary L. and her husband Robert O'Connor of New Bern, NC, Esther A. and her husband David O'Connell and Carl H. and his wife Marie Jonasson Jr. of Needham, Barbara J. Pace, Eric P. Jonasson and Helen F. and her husband Richard Gauvey of St. Petersburg, FL. Carol was the dear daughter in law of Sandra M. and the late Francis J. Castagnino of Newton, sister in law of John J. and his wife Lisa Castagnino of Newton and the late Carol A. Hamilton. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Church ,1360 Highland Ave. Needham on Wed Aug. 8th at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours at the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Interment Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Cystinosis Research Network, 302 Whytegate Ave.Lake Forest, Il 60045.
All who knew Carol will remember her with the greatest affection as a kind, sweet, caring considerate, loving wife, mother, nannie, daughter, sister,aunt, niece and friend whose affectionate smile brought happiness to everyone around her.
