Carol M. Krahn, 63, of Gleason, formerly of Rib Mountain, died Monday, July 18, 2011 at her home. She was born March 9, 1948 in Wausau to the late Alfred & Dorothy (Myska) Kluetz. She married Eldred "Al" Krahn Jr. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ on May 2, 1970. He survives. Carol worked for 20 years as an office manager. She also grew ginseng for 18 years with her husband and had owned her own business for 10 years. Together they built their retirement home in beautiful Harrison Hills near Tomahawk. She loved antiques, being outdoors and helping her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Al Krahn, Gleason; three brothers, Daniel (Kim) Kluetz, Thomas (Barbara) Kluetz and Richard Kluetz; three very special nieces, Lori Kluetz, Jodi Bleier and Brenda Damrow; two very special nephews, Alan (Carrie) Kluetz, San Diego, CA, and Michael Kluetz, Wausau; great nieces, Kelsey Kluetz, Riley Bleier and Danica Smith, and great nephew, Kyle Kluetz. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Donald James Kluetz at birth and a very special sister-in-law, Joan Kluetz in 2007. Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Allen Montgomery will officiate. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM Thursday before the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
