Mrs. Carrol Hedger Woodham of McDonough, Georgia passed away peacefully in the family home, Thursday, August 2 after a long and courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana. Carrol was an accomplished homemaker with a keen sense of humor. During the last few years of her illness she created hundreds of drawings. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, B.J. Woodham; daughter, Jan Ellis; son, Ed Woodham; sister, Thelma Beals; daughter-in-law, Maggie Hedger. Her grandchildren: Tammy, Misty, Hannah, Sarah, Nate, Laura, Kim, Adam, Matt, Lindsay, Brian, Greg, and Jeff; 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Alvie Hedger and Lottie McKee Hedger; daughter, Deborah Simpson; son, Stephen Hedger; brothers, Rueben, Lloyd, and Elmer Hedger. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 5, 2012 – 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Chaplain Don Daley officiating. Entombment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions are asked to be made to SDS/MSA Support Group at 8311 Brier Creek Parkway, Suite 105 – 434, Raleigh, NC, 27617 in memory of Carrol Woodham.
