NEW BERN, NC
Charles Houston Webb, 54, died Saturday, November 10, 2012 following a massive stroke. Charles was born in Sea Level Hospital to the late Herbert F. and Mary Frances Webb. He graduated from East Carteret High School and was employed at Naval Aviation Rework Facility at Cherry Point Naval Base as Quality Assurance Director.
Charles was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge St. John's #3, Sudan Temple, New Bern Shrine Club (treasurer), Sudan Cooligans Unit, and Tuscarora Hunting Club. Throughout his life Charles' passions included hunting, fishing, golfing, field trials with his Labradors, and woodworking. He dedicated countless hours to helping his church and community as a handyman. Charles was an avid Tarheel and shared his quick wit and humor with everyone he met.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Pollock~Best Funeral Home and other times at the home. Charles is survived by his wife, Ruth Jarman Webb; his daughter, the light of his life and hunting partner, Olivia Houston Webb; his labs Splash and Ramsey; his sisters Marjorie Best and Ellen Rose and husband Ron; nieces Stephanie Best and Charlotte Holliday and husband Lee; nephews Ben Rose and David Rose and wife Jennifer; great-nephews Spencer Holliday and Ryan Rose; great-niece Katelyn Rose; and five very special cousins.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Charlene Pierce-Guider officiating. Burial, with Masonic Rites provided by St. John's Lodge #3, will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
