Daniel J. "Danny" Hyde, Sr., Indianapolis, Ind., died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 9, 2012 while at work. Born on December 31, 1960 in Beech Grove, Ind., he was the son of the late Robert D. and Mary J. (McIlvain) Hyde.
On May 5, 1984 he was united in marriage to Edith Fonseca-Price in Lawrence Township, Indiana. Together they built a close knit family that meant everything to him. He was a member of St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church, Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop #13, and he coached girl's softball and basketball at Christian Park. He was an expert "handyman" and loved to repair various items. He was known as a skilled mechanic, carpenter and loved to work in his garden. He was currently employed by Fonseca Properties where he was the maintenance supervisor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Edith Hyde, Indianapolis; children, Daniel Jr., David, Devin and Candace (Randy McEntire) all of Indianapolis; brother, Dennis (Peggy) Hyde; sisters, Debra (Ron) Bader, Deanna (John) Mow and Donna Hill; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a niece, Shannon Partlow; uncle, Jay Hyde and great-nephew, Shane Partlow.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 1604 W. Morris Street, Indianapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Carlton at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the family for funeral expenses.
