Daniel Lee Mootz, 54, was welcomed into heaven Monday morning, December 12, 2011, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Dan was a very caring man and made friends with everyone he met. He was dearly loved by his family and friends. Dan was an amazing watercolor artist and was beginning to explore the beauty of photography. He loved cheering for the Green Bay Packers with his son and father-in-law. Dan was the owner of Framing Excellence and also was employed at Home Depot. Dan was born June 21, 1957 to Glenn and Meta Mootz in Merrill, Wisconsin. He married Karen Lambrecht on April 3, 1982. Dan was a 1975 graduate of Merrill Senior High School. He was a member of Wisconsin Valley Art Association and Wisconsin Valley Art Guild. Dan is survived by his wife, Karen of Rib Mountain; son, Anthony (Leah) of Shakopee, Minnesota; daughter, Miranda of Rib Mountain; brothers, Robert (Helen Kay) and Kenneth (Sandy) of Merrill; Mother-in-law & Father-in-law, Mary Lou & Albert Milner of Rib Mountain; Aunts and Uncles, David & Joann Sauer and Lavern & Bernice Sauer of Merrill; Nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by both of his parents in 2010. Funeral services will be Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. The Rev. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 4:00 � 8:00 PM at the Waid Funeral Home Chapel and on Friday from 10:00 until time of services at the church.
