Dolores "Penny" Abbitt 79, Zionsville, went to her Lord July 18, 2012. Penny was born in Loysburg, PA on May 3, 1933, to the late Jennie and Lawrence James Pennel.
She was a long time member of Mounts Runn Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 53 years, and was involved in various children's ministries of the church. She was also active in personal evangelism. She was employed by the Eagle Union Elementary School of Boone County for 34 years.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Chester Marion in 1989. She is survived by her sons, Robert Wayne and David Alan (Sabine) Abbitt; daughter, Theresa Jolan Abbitt; grandson, Tyler Abbitt; one sister and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday July 22, 2012 at Mounts Runn Baptist Church 250 S County Road 775 E. Zionsville, IN 46077 with funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Mounts Runn Missions Fund, C/O the church.
