Mr. Donald Drew (Don) Windham, 58 of Alachua Ln. in Lee County died July 28, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 2 PM at Kimbrell-Stern. Rev. Bobby Moye officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Greenwood, Mississippi, Mr. Windham has lived in Lee County since 1963 where he was of the Baptist faith and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with 19 years of service and GA-FL Railnet with 13 years of service. He also served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. Don was known for his big heart, his love of the Kinchafoonee Creek and the entire "creek People". He had a zest for life and he never met a stranger. Most of all, Don loved his family, especially his wife, daughter, and grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Sue Smith Whitehead.
Survivors include his wife Linda T. Windham of Leesburg, daughter, Alison Pedigo of Leesburg, grandchildren, Taylor Drew and Meaghan Pedigo, mother, Lauretta Strickland of Leesburg, father, Julius Drew Windham of Conroe, TX, sisters, Deborah Minor of Leesburg and Diane Windham of Tucker, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.
