Dorothy Marie "Dottie" Morrison Holt, 64, resident of Petersburg and former longtime resident of Holly Grove Road in Lewisburg, died Monday, July 16, 2012 at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.

Friends may visit at Mrs. Holt's daughter's residence on Saturday, July 21, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at 1880 Holly Grove Road in Lewisburg. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family suggests memorials to Tennessee Children's Home, P.O. Box 10, Spring Hill, TN 37174 or American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1864, Columbia, TN 38402. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

The Marshall County native was the daughter of the late Julian and Mary Lillian Morrison. On May 9, 1963 she married Bobby Holt who preceded her in death on April 7, 2001. Mrs. Holt was a former sales manager for Dollar General and Family Dollar and had also been employed as office manager at Bobby Martin Motors.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Misty Holt of Chapel Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Steve McMillin of Lewisburg; a beloved grandson, Brandon Masson of Lewisburg; companion, Tommy "Slick" Haislip of Petersburg; a special son, Mikael Hopwood of Lewisburg, granddaughters, Brittany Holt and Brooke Holt both of Cornersville; grandson, Brad Lindquist of Smyrna; great-grandson, Brayden Lindquist of Smyrna; and step-brothers, Mike Lancaster of Sweetwater, Andy Lancaster of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, R.L. Lancaster.
