Douglas Stewart Wogsland, 80, Merrill, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Pine Crest Nursing Home. Born on July 4, 1930 in Tomahawk, he was the son of Arvin and Elsie (Bjorgan) Wogsland. Doug married Gail Grill in Rhinelander on November 15, 1955. She survives. Doug was a 1948 graduate of Tomahawk High School. After school he enlisted in the Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1953. Doug then worked at Merrill Manufacturing for 31 years as their purchasing agent. He retired in 1992. Doug loved to golf, fish and hunt. Survivors include his wife: Gail Wogsland, Merrill; and brother: Robert (Dolores Wogsland, Tomahawk. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald, one sister, Shirley Kitzke, and one sister-in-law, Marge Wogsland. Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian Friedrich will officiate. Friends may call from 9 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
