Elijah was born on April 20, 1998 to Allen Raymond Groom and Angela Rachelle Malloy in Fairfield, California. He was a constant joy and loved so graciously. Elijah was born with a full head of thick black hair, surprising everyone right from the start. As a baby he disliked being left alone in his crib more than usual. As long as he was with mom and dad he was happy. As he grew he enjoyed fishing and camping with grandma and grandpa, and Playstation video games with mom and dad. He was sensitive, sweet and caring of all those around him. He loved the sunny beaches and snowy mountains of California, and anyplace outdoors. He was so excited when he became a big brother. He was such a good big brother, always looking out for the babies. Every day we would walk to school together he would pick flowers for his little sister and put them in the stroller with her. He was never shy about hugs and kisses for his loved ones. Elijah became ill while living with his father in Woodland, CA. It was an unfortunate fact that we were not all together when the diagnosis was made. I am sure his father did everything in his power to make Elijah's last years as wonderful as possible without us. Not a day goes by that we don't wonder why we were kept in the dark about Elijah's leukemia. If only everyone had the love in their hearts that Elijah did, we would all be friends today.
Elijah is also survived by his sister Ashley O'Brien, brother Michael O'Brien, Grandma Judy Pendley, and too many other family members to name.
