Floyd M. Walker, 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at a Fort Worth hospital.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Interment: Tye Cemetery in Burleson. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel.

He was born on Feb. 11, 1940, in Kewanee, Ill., to his parents, David E. and Barbara Mercer Walker. Floyd was the oldest of three. He married Marianne Barnes in Bradford, Ill., on July 12, 1958. They had three children. He attended Bradford High School, Bradford, Ill., and graduated in 1958. They lived in Aberdeen, Miss., for 20 years. He was a truck driver for Beneke Corp., Columbus, Miss., and Walker MFG. Co., Aberdeen, Miss. He moved to Burleson in 1983 and established FW Freight Service, Inc. For the last 29 years he was beloved owner and president.
Floyd was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. He was a generous supporter of the community. He was a member of the Burleson Morning Rotary Club and awarded the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship Award and achieved perfect attendance for just under 20 years. He enjoyed farming, transportation and his loving family; it was his life. Most of all he enjoyed being surrounded by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Beverly Walker; and son-in-law, Jean Harrington.
Survivors: Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marianne; children, Debbie Harrington of Aberdeen Miss., Richard E. Walker (Ann) of Burleson and Donna Kay Walker of Burleson; grandchildren, Debbie Jean Dilworth (Jamie), Hank Harrington (Leslie) of Hamilton, Miss., Katie Wade, Michael Wade, Reese Walker and Hannah Walker of Burleson; great-grandchildren, Brayden Dilworth, Laney and Walker Harrington; brother, David V. Walker; sister, Martha Chamberlain (Dave) of Bradford, Ill.; and many loving family and friends.
