Frances U. Hetfeld age 89, of Merrill, died Friday, August 10, 2012 at Pine Crest Nursing Home. Frances was born October 28, 1922 in Goodman, Wisconsin the daughter of the late Jacob and Ulrica (Jacobson) Anderson. She was a graduate of Goodman High School. She married Roland Hetfeld March 30, 1946, in Goodman, a union that lasted 66 years. Frances had worked at Ace Hardware for many years. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she served as the President of the Women's Club and was also involved in numerous other church activities. She also worked in the gift shop at the Merrill Hospital. Frances enjoyed bowling. Survivors include: husband, Roland of Merrill, 2 sons: Jeffery (Pamela) Hetfeld of Merrill, and Carl (Lori) Hetfeld of Woodville, WI, 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, She was preceded in death by her parents, son Ross Hetfeld, and her brothers and sisters, Hulda Cassidy, Edna Armfield, Ellen Knudsen, Alma Vogels, Robert Anderson, Oscar Anderson, Vernon Anderson, Verna Gardener, Edith Anderson, Aldrick Anderson, and Nayda Anderson. Memorial service will be held 12pm Wednesday August 15, 2012 at Christ United Methodist Church, the Rev. Don Entenman will officiate. Visitation will be 10 am until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Glenwood Cemetery in Goodman, WI. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com
