Francis "Frank" Nisius was born July 11, 1933 in Dubuque, Iowa: the son of Frank Xavier and Mabel Agnes (Smith) Nisius. He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On October 12, 1956, Frank was united in marriage to Marjorie J. Scribner at her mother's home; she preceded him in death on April 9, 2007. He was employed at John Deere for 30 years, retiring on July 31, 1985. Frank enjoyed camping, mowing the lawn and loved his dogs.
Frank passed away on Monday, August 13, 2012 at Allen Memorial Hospital at the age of 79 from natural causes. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Marjorie, an infant son Frankie Joe Nisius; five brothers and a sister. Frank is survived by two sons: Tim (Cindy) Nisius of Janesville and Tom (Becky Jo) Nisius of Waverly; a daughter Terry (Dennis) Heyenga of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren: Nicole Kannegieter, Mike Nisius, Nickolaus Nisius, Brad Heyenga and Joel Nisius and 10 great-grandchildren. Frank will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
