Hal Hawk Jones passed away on November 11, 2012. He lived 94 well-spent years and was an accomplished husband, father, gardener, salesman, and friend. His garden flowers and smile lit up rooms, and his garden vegetables fed a host of family and friends. He was an active member of Harriman United Methodist Church, the Harriman Garden Club, and a 40-year Kiwanis member. He retired as Regional Sales Manager for Stratton & Terstegge Co., and served as a Staff Sergeant in the Medical Core of the Army/Air Force during WWII.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years Margaret Jones, son John (Jamey) Jones; daughters Lynn Landry and Judy (Dan) Housley; and grandchildren Erin (Keith) Wainright, Jack (Weatherly) Landry, Justin Jones, Will (Liz) Jones, Ben Housley and Hannah Housley; and great grandchildren Mallory and Parker Wainright, Gus and Boone Landry; as well as cherished nieces, cousins, friends, and his dog Murphy. His beautiful smile and spirit will be sorely missed.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Harriman United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 17; Hal's family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 with a reception following in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Harriman United Methodist Church, 601 Queen Street, Harriman 37748, or the charity of your choice.
