Joyce E. LaFlamme, 71, of Summerville, the wife of George LaFlamme, died Thursday, September 23, 2010. Born in Watertown, New York on August 5, 1939 she was the oldest of four daughters born to Raymond and Evangeline Litz.

Joyce was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved to sew; she made her daughter’s wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses and made blankets for infants in the neonatal units at local hospitals. She was an avid reader and always had a book with her. Joyce enjoyed cooking, baking, and made over 40 varieties of homemade jelly that won several ribbons at the Coastal Carolina Fair.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 36 years George; seven sons: Darwin, Rodney, Rick, Mark, Steven, Bryan and Joey; four daughters: Robin, Melanie, Alicia and Joy; three sisters: JoAnn Murphy of Gulfport, FL; Donna Skalos of Pinellas Park, FL and Elaine Scott of Bridgeport, NY; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00pm with the funeral service beginning at 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL, 869 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek. Inurnment will be held at Plantation Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner, at a later date.
