June Margaret Winter, 81, Irma, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. Born in St. Paul, MN on June 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Roy A. and Ethel M. (Strom) Erickson. She married Thomas Drew Winter August 10, 1962 in St. Paul, MN. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1999. June had worked as a nurse and chemical dependency counselor. In her spare time, she enjoyed vacationing, gardening, spending time with her girlfriends and going to the lake. June was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, and the Alumni Association of Lutheran Deaconess Nursing School. She is survived by her two daughters, Jean Winter and Sandra Winter, both of Irma; her son, Andrew (finace', Terri Lewis) Winter, River Falls, WI; two granddaughters, Catherine Winter-Reed and Allison Winter-Reed; and one brother, Ronald (Donna) Erickson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas, and brother, Gene Erickson. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.
