KAREN ELOISE PUTMAN
Karen Putman, 69, went to be with the Lord October 14, 2011. She was a member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church as well as ACFKC Chef's Association and KCBS. Karen's passion was BBQ, leading to her winning over 400 awards in both cooking and recipe competitions including being a 4 time BBQ World Champion and cookbook author. Karen considered cooking her gift to others and was known as "Flower of the Flames". She was preceded in death by her parents John and LaVerna Fatino; brother, Tom Fatino; son, William Putman; granddaughter Rhianna Putman. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jim "Putter" Putman; children: Bernie and Karen Hollingshead, Denton, TX, Patricia and Chaz Goatley, Broken Arrow, OK, Tim Hollingshead, KCMO, Daniel Putman, KCMO, and Mayleen and Shawn Callahan, KCMO; brother, John D. Fatino, PA, sister, Ronna and Bill Keck, KCKS; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 18, from 5 - 8pm, at Floral Hills. Funeral services will be 10am Wednesday, October 19, at Eagle Heights Baptist Church, 5600 N Brighton, KCMO 64119. Burial will follow at Floral Hills. (Arrangements by D.W.
