Lynne Mary Van Alstine, 57, of Merrill, passed away Monday, June 18, 2012 at Bell Tower Residence. She was born in Kenosha on March 11, 1955, the daughter of the late Robert & Mary (Alden) Van Alstine. Lynne graduated from Beaver Dam High School, class of '73. She had worked at Burgess Norton and Green Giant, both in Beaver Dam. Since moving to Merrill three years ago, Lynne became very involved at the Merrill Community Enrichment Center. She volunteered daily at the center working with older adults and children. She enjoyed reading, sending messages on her iPad, attending Bible studies, taking Sunday rides and spending time with her brother Frank, his wife Amy and niece Lauren as well as her many friends. Lynne will be remembered for her sense of humor, caring heart and willingness to help others. She was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ. Survivors include her brothers, Frank (Amy) Van Alstine, Merrill, and Roger Van Alstine, Madison, niece Lauren Van Alstine and special friends, Jane Deau, Judy Vessey, Sheri Pudlowski and Beth Pergolski. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bruce. Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 21, 2012 at St. Stephen's United Church of Christ. Pastor Missy Holdorf will officiate. Friends may call from 9-11 AM before the service Thursday at the church. Memorial donations may be given to the Merrill Area Community Enrichment Center or to St. Stephen's U.C.C.
