Funeral Services and Mass of Christian Burial for Mario Lira, Sr., 36, a resident of Davenport, will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 417 Main Street, Davenport. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. The Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport assisted the family with arrangements. Mario passed away on Friday, October 12, 2012 in Davenport.
Mario Lira was born on July 28, 1976 in Davenport, a son of Pablo Lira and Irma Constantino. Mario had worked in carpentry for many years and enjoyed playing pool in a league.
Survivors include his fiancée, Vanessa L. Salinas, Davenport; children, Marisa, Elisa, Celeste, Mario, Jr., and Maria Lira and Abigayle and Gabrielle Mildren; his parents, Irma Constantino and Pablo Lira, all of Davenport; his siblings, sisters, Anita (Mario) Diaz, and Elvira (Juan) Diaz all of Irving, TX; a brother, Paul, III (Quinn) Lira, Davenport; his grandparents, Adella Martinez, Davenport, and Claudia and Pablo Lira, Laredo, TX; Godmother, Carmela Lira, a Godson, Hector Herrera, Jr., Davenport; as well as numerous other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his great grandma, great grandpa, his uncle Alfonzo Constantino, Godfather, Jesus Lira, and a special friend, Ramano Ramirez.
