Mundwiler Funeral Home announces the death of Martin M. Pauli, age 54, of Twin Brooks, SD. Martin passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012. Funeral Services for Martin Pauli will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Central United Methodist Church in Milbank. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 5-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Pastors Craig Werling and Dr. DeVern Schwenn will be officiating. Burial will be at the Milbank City Cemetery. Martin Marwood Pauli was born on September 8, 1957 to parents Orlo and Yvonne (Cooper) Pauli in Bishop, CA. Martin moved with his family to a farm near Milbank. He attended and graduated from Milbank High School, class of 1976. After high school, Martin worked in the construction business. In 1978 he moved to Denver, CO, where he built custom homes. In 1989, he moved back to Milbank where he worked small jobs until he began driving semi for Pauli Transportation and Ken's Transfer. In 1990, Martin was united in marriage to Sue Prendergast. In 1991, they moved to and made their home in Twin Brooks and in 1997, they welcomed their daughter, Shauna. Martin was raised in the Methodist faith and after his marriage he joined the Lutheran faith. Martin had several hobbies, including fishing, bird hunting, horseback riding, tinkering with things in his garage and laughing! Martin died on Sunday, July 29, 2012. He had lived to reach the age of 54 years. Martin is survived by his daughter: Shauna Pauli of Milbank; mother, Yvonne "Vonnie" Pauli of Milbank; brothers: Bill Pauli of Milbank and Andy Pauli of Watertown and sister Shirley Pauli of Watertown; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Martin was preceded in death by his father, Orlo Pauli.
