Nancy Lee (Hunt) Ewoldt, 67, passed away peacefully at ManorCare after a long illness on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, with her daughters and her friend Deanna Staggs by her side.

Nancy was born on January 14, 1944 in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Albert and Gladys (Ague) Hunt. She graduated from Assumption High School in1962 and joined the Navy, where she studied nursing and played the bass drum in the band. After leaving the Navy, she worked as a psychiatric nurse at Illini Hosptial and was a social activist involved with numerous local groups, including the American Indian Movement and Greenpeace. She also was a musician who wrote her own songs and was an avid reader.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and by her son, Scott White. She is survived by her sisters, Pam Hunt, Sally Leal, and Jennifer Barnett, by her brother, Steven Hunt, by her daughters Elizabeth ('Lisa') Huff and Teresa ('Tracy') Petersen, and by her grand-children, Dylan Ivey, DJ Serrano, Ayana Petersen, and Anthony ('Tony') Geary, and by her great-grand-children Jeremiah James and Shylah Ivey, and Skyla Serrano.
