Nelli Schulz Hello everyone, I guess if you are reading this, the good lord has decided it was my time. Time for what, is the question. I guess I will figure that out when I get there…as you all will someday. In the mean time, enjoy your life…everyday is a journey not a destination. I was born on December 17, 1960 in Braunau, Switzerland to Emil and Verena Roth. I have one sister, Verena and two brothers, Heinz and Erich. We all moved to Merrill in 1968 on a cold icy March day. Imagine that…cold and icy in WISCONSIN. Makes you wonder why we didn’t turn around, but my guess is they didn’t have de-icing equipment back then. We moved to Merrill, Wisconsin where I lived most of my life. I graduated from Merrill High School in 1979. I met my wonderful husband, Mark Schulz, in Merrill and we were married September 13, 1986. Mark and I had four wonderful children together. Stephanie (Matt) Brock, Kristy, Luke and Jake. You all have been my rock and I could not have done the last several years without such a wonderful family…thanks for being there for me and each other. This is the part where people usually write where they worked… so here goes. I worked as a travel agent for 20 years. This was a great job as it allowed me to travel to many interesting destinations and many times take my family with me. I later worked for Wausau Benefits/Fiserv/UMR, this gave me quite an education for health care and insurance. I believe there should be a course in insurance 101, but I guess the key is how to get people to take it. Last but not least, the things I loved most… there is really only one answer… LIFE. I was an optimist and hopefully was able to pass this on to my family. As I believed the glass is always half full. I enjoyed spending time with my family, tractor pulls, skiing, shopping, traveling, camping, anything crafting and the challenge of fixing things. To my family whom I will someday meet again… Mark, my wonderful husband, my children, Stephanie (Matt) Brock, Kristy, Luke and Jake. My siblings and their families, Verena (William and Arthur), Heinz (Mary – Heidi, Alex, Ryan, Brad), Erich (Karen), My father-in-law Ardell Schulz, my extended family, Karen (Dale – Eric, Jeremy, Meghan and Teagan), Linda (my little buddy Jared) and Jeff ( daughter – Genna). Remember, never go away mad and never say goodbye, only “See ya later”, as life is a journey. Now go have a cold “Coors Light” or a glass of wine as life was good and should be celebrated, not cried over. Love you all. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Verena Roth and her mother-in-law, Charlotte Schulz. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 13, 2011, at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, Merrill. Pastor Missy Holdorf will officiate. Friends may call from 4 PM to 8PM Wednesday at the Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, and again on Thursday from 9AM to 11AM at the church. Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com
