Odell Burney, 88, of Springfield, died Sunday July 29, 2012 at Alive Hospice Skyline Madison Campus. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday August 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the Robertson County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Herman Nixon officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Wilkins, Dwayne Wilkins, Tony Farmer, Kenneth Don Walker, Ronnie Johnson, and Greg Dorsey. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Burney was born June 29, 1924 in Robertson County to the late Harry Allen and Annie Lee Murphy Burney. He was a retired farmer and a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. Mr. Burney is survived by his wife of 68 years: Bernice Louise Ellis Burney, daughter and son-in-law: Wanda and Billy Baldwin of Springfield, brothers: J.W. Burney of Cedar Hill and Donald Burney of Cedar HIll, sister: Elizabeth Burney Watts of Stroudsville, grandchildren: Ronnie (Roseanne) Johnson, Tammy (Greg) Dorsey, great grandchildren: Joshua Johnson, Austin, Kyle, and Olivia Dorsey
