CROUSE, PHILIP CHARLES born in Brooklyn, New York on July 14, 1951. When he was two, the family moved to Texas. Philip graduated from Permian High School in Odessa, TX in 1969 and married Cindy Warman the same year. He attended the University of Texas Austin and received his BS in Petroleum Engineering with honors and his MBA in 1975.His oil career began in West Texas oil fields as a roustabout, and later summer engineer with Getty, Texaco, and Humble. Moving to Dallas after graduation, he joined Atlantic Richfield in long range planning. Then at Champlin (UPRC) he developed E&P strategies for development of Long Beach fault blocks. In 1978 he was instrumental in applying for regulated pricing options. He was nominated by Sun to the Conference Board Congressional Fellow program and was chosen as one of 10 participants from a spectrum of corporations. At age 28 he was the youngest participant in the program's then 10-year history. During this year, he served as a senior staffer on the US Senate Committee on the Budget and was responsible for a $5.5+ billion budget segment. He worked for 8 senators. Upon completion of the program, Philip was chosen as part of a Senate staff team to assist the incoming President Reagan's transition team in the area of agriculture (since he was from Texas "farm" country). Returning to Dallas, Philip opened Philip C. Crouse and Associates, Inc. consulting practice which has taken him to more than 30 countries. He was among the first advocates of horizontal well technology. He consulted with Japan Drilling Company, ADMA-OPCO, and other companies in the use of new technology areas. This led to 23 years of providing courses and conferences in horizontal drilling, coiled tubing, geosteering and emerging technology areas and data management and integration for the oil industry through the company's division, Petroleum Network Education Conferences (PNEC). Philip is a registered professional engineer and recognized for his accomplishments in petroleum engineering by TSPE. He is a Distinguished Member and life member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers where he served as a director to SPE International and trustee to the AIME. Philip was instrumental in opening the Arkansas SPE chapter in recent years. He is a former president of the Petroleum Engineers Club of Dallas. He has received numerous awards and honors in his field. He authored many articles, training manuals and has given over 800 speeches to the larger international petroleum community. Philip has been a leader in the oil industry always trying to help the general public understand the oil industry better and mentoring the next generation that will be leading the oil industry and serving our country's energy applications and environmental concerns. Phillip was member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of Scottish Rite Free Masons. He was married to his high school sweetheart,Cindy, for 42 years. They enjoyed life together traveling, boating, golfing, fund raising and volunteering and being with each other and their families and friends, and enjoyed their 2nd home in Arkansas. Survivors: Wife, Cindy Rene Crouse, Brothers, William (Bill) H. Crouse Jr., Harry Edwin Crouse,Sister, Deborah (Susan) Thompson, Mother in Law, Mildred (Millie) Warman and many in laws, sister in laws, nephews, nieces and cousins.
