Schenectady, NY formerly of Saugus – Mr. Philip George Anastos, age 78, died Wednesday, August 15 at his home following a brief illness. He was the husband of Virginia R. (Randall) Anastos with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late George and Beatrice (Tavoularis) Anastopolous. Philip was a resident of Saugus for over 44 years before moving to Schenectady in 2006. He worked for Modern Heating, Booma Oil and later owned and ran his business MMMap Oil where he retired in 1994.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four children Pamela Turnbell and her husband Terry of Schenectady, NY, George Anastos of Jamaica Plain, Christina Mordaunt of Saugus, David Anastos of Lynn and his daughter in-law Trish Anastos of Saugus; Nine grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Turnbell, Marc and Paul Mordaunt, and Ashley, Joey, Danny, Ryan, and Alexis Anastos; three brothers, Peter of Wakefield, Clay of Peabody, and Charlie of Lynn and one sister Annie Anastos of Lynn. He was predeceased by his sister, Christina and his son, Timothy Anastos.
Donations in Philip's memory can be made to the Schenectady Hospice, 1411 Union St, Schenectady, NY 12308.
Service Information
A funeral service will be held in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus on Monday at 11 a.m. Relatives and Friends invited. Visitation prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
