Graveside service for Reta M. Brown, 102, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011 in Woodridge Memorial Park. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is assisting the family.
Mrs. Brown died Wednesday, December 7, 2011. Born January 17, 1909 in Vancouver, British Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Oliver and Maude Maria Graves Maddex. She was the wife of the late Raymond I. Brown.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church. She was a naturalized citizen of the United States, receiving her certificate of citizenship March 19, 1947. She was a dedicated mother and wife who enjoyed being a Cub Scout Den Mother, as well as serving on the PTA. She also enjoyed crocheting and crafting.
Surviving are her sons, Raymond K. Brown and wife, Jackie, David L. Brown and wife, Rose; six grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Evans Maddex and her great- great-granddaughter, Madison.
