Robert Woodrow Englund, 89, of Minocqua passed away at the Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff on Saturday June 2, 2012.
He was born in Alexandria, MN on September 9, 1922 to Joseph and Carrie (nee Lindgren) Englund.
Robert served in the US-Navy during WW II on the USS Liscome Bay. He attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Civil Engineering. Professionally, he worked in the Twin Cities for many years before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Eunice.
Survivors include two sons, Ross of Marquette, MI and Scott (Mary) of Burnsville, MN and a daughter Shari (Wendell) Anderson of Minocqua; nine grandchildren, Jason, Tony, Tara, Tyler, Nicole (Joshua) Shucha, Kellen (Crystal), Keidra (Peter) Stuart, Cory (Katherine) and Jared; five great grandchildren and a brother Wally (Katie) Englund of Minneapolis.
A celebration of his Life Luncheon will be held on Sunday June 10, 2012 at 11:30 AM at Lakeland Assembly of God Church in Woodruff.
A military committal service with full military honors will be held on Tuesday June 12, 2012 at 9:45 AM at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN
