Rose Lee Lane, age 82, of Hanahan SC, walked into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, February 15th 2012. She was born in Homer, GA on February 25th 1929 to the late Robert and Maggie Gowder. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active member of Remount Baptist Church since 1959. She loved flowers and was a Charter Member and Past President of Berkeley Hills Garden Club. She was also a State Life Member of the Garden Club of South Carolina. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Francis hospital in July 1950. She was always thinking of others and volunteered at schools, churches, and in her community.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years: G.T. Lane of Hanahan SC; daughter: Angie McKissick (Tim) of San Jose CA; son: Glenn Lane of Hanahan SC; 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild; brother: Roy Gowder of Lula GA; sister: Rubye McAllister of Gastonia NC. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 18th 2012 at Remount Baptist Church, 1520 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406, Rev. Joe Trayham officiating. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 17th 2012 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston SC 29406.
The family is gratefully accepting floral tributes, or memorials may be made in honor of Mrs. Rose Lane to the Remount Baptist Church Benevolent Fund, 1520 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
