Ruthanne Rockey Ramsey, 58, died on July 13, 2012 at home, holding hands with her loving husband, Lawrence Joseph Lutz and her beloved son, Alex Joseph Rockey Lutz. Additional survivors include her mother, Maryann Sindelar and her step-brother David Paul Bozeman (both of Daytona Beach, Florida). Departed loved ones are her father C. J. Rockey, Jr., her sister Anna Rebecca Katz and her grandparents Dr. and Mrs. C. J. Rockey (Ashville, Ohio) and Mrs. Irene Napier (Iowa City, Iowa). Dr. Ramsey graduated with honors from Ohio Northern in 1976 and received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Texas-Austin in 1984. She graduated from the University of Utah Gerontology program in 1985, completing a Post-Doctorate Residency in Geriatric Clinical Pharmacy. During an outstanding career in teaching Pharmacy doctorate students, she received numerous teaching awards, including the President's Excellence in Teaching from the University of Colorado. Most important to Dr. Ramsey during her life was the raising of her son, Alex Lutz. She adhered to the quote from Jacqueline Kennedy, "If you bungle raising your children. I don't think whatever else you do matters very much." There will be a private memorial service for Dr. Ramsey in her home, followed by internment beside her sister at Reber Hill Cemetery, Pickaway County, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony Foundation can be sent care of Dr. Scott Stewart, 1700 N. Decatur Road, Room 210, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, 30322.
